Q. Can I purchase the digital files or CD of photos from Ryckman Photography?
A. We do not sell the images in this form due to copyrights.
Q. Why are Ryckman Photography’s images copyrighted?
A. It is difficult as a professional photographer to maintain quality control when your images are not copyrighted. It is our express purpose to give our clients the BEST possible quality and service! Copyrighting our images is a part of this. The lack of copyright gives everyone the right to use the images as they see fit. In other words – they are free to manipulate them on the computer and print them at any store they prefer including low-end outlets. The old cliche is true, “You do get what you pay for”. For our sake and the sake of our clients we need to maintain a standard of excellence for our images and our business therefore, we need to protect how the images are processed and printed.
Q. Can I get images to post online for things like Facebook?
A. Yes, upon request we do provide 10 email-sized images with our business name on them, free, for you to post online. If you would like more images to use than this you can request more for a fee.
Q. Why does there need to be a ‘RYCKMAN PHOTOGRAPHY’ written on my online images?
A. Our images are legally copyrighted so having our business name unobtrusively written on the images provides legal permission to use the images on the internet. If the business name is cropped off or removed off of the image then the client no longer has permission to use the copyrighted image legally on the internet.
Q. How long after a wedding until I receive my photos?
A. Your album will be ready for pickup or shipped out to you 4-6 weeks after the wedding date.
Q. How do I order photos after the wedding or photo shoot?
A. All the images go onto an online ordering system. You will be given a link to the website as well as a password to access your photos. If you wish to share this link and password with others then they also can go online and order reprints from the site as well. Simply select the reprints you would like online, put them in your shopping cart and order! We will send you a confirmation email when the reprints are ordered. Your images will remain online for 6 months after they have been posted.
Q. Can I still order photos after they have come off the online ordering system?
A. Yes you can still order reprints. Instead of ordering online you will need to contact Ryckman Photography directly to order.
Q. What kind of wedding album do the photos come in?
A. We provide a high quality professionally designed coffee table style wedding album. Please check out the albums on our blog.
Q. Do you use digital or film photography?
A. At Ryckman Photography we shoot digital.
Q. How far in advance do I need to book Ryckman Photography for a wedding?
A. Most of our weddings are booked a year in advance (this is your best option) but give us a call either way as sometimes things get canceled and shifted around – so there is always a chance!
Q. How far in advance do I need to book Ryckman Photography for a family or portrait shoot?
A. Portrait sessions are booked every year in November for the following year – if you would like to be added to our list and receive a booking email lin November – please contact us directly.
Q. What do we wear to our family photo shoot?
A. Usually we suggest wearing the things you love or feel the most comfortable in but there are a few things to consider when getting dressed for you photo shoot.
We suggest staying away from stripped tops, plaid shirts and logos.
If the whole family wears black shirts what can happen when you are grouped is that you can look like one big body – as there is no distinction between people.
It is nice to coordinate your clothing a little but that doesn’t mean everyone needs to wear exactly the same thing.
P.S. Also good for women to wear a little bit more make-up than they usually do – it’s kinda like stage make-up – it adds to your features in photographs.
