Ordinary to Extraordinary

Category: Ordinary to ExtraordinaryMicheline @ 10:22 pm

What once was so fresh and exciting has become ordinary… The repetitive work, responsibilities and duties of everyday life can, I find, sometimes steal the beauty.

I am not sure why I would ever want to set myself up for another project – LOL!!! Yet, the idea doesn’t seem to want to leave my head… maybe not an idea… more like an inspiration? I want to try for one month from March 1st until March 31st to find the ordinary extraordinary.  That is, look at life differently when I get up in the morning and search for the treasure. I honestly have no idea what form that treasure will take each day. It was there when I was a child – it must still exist now. I want to capture it with my heart but also being a visual person I want to capture it with my camera. So here begins a daily series of photos of my extraordinary ordinary life. HA!

I can’t promise you how this will look, what time of day it will post or whether it will even be interesting to anyone other than myself but I thought I would share it anyway – after all isn’t this what a blog is for? Well… maybe a business blog isn’t supposed to be for this type of thing but at least it still includes photography. :}

Until tomorrow,

Micheline Ryckman

P.S. An apology in advance – we have moved into a rural area in Creston, BC and sometimes our internet isn’t always entirely reliable so if I miss a day it probably is my internet connection… please bear with me!

P.S.S. Oh also… I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the comments to work properly here on this blog so I will post these daily thoughts and images in an album on my facebook site as well – if any one out there wants to comment…

Private Lessons

Category: NewsMicheline @ 7:25 pm

I have been asked numerous times if I will be holding another photography course this year but it looks like I will not be able to.  However, I am going to offer private lessons in my home. (For those of you from Cranbrook…  I am sorry to say that you would have to travel to Creston for the lessons since we have just recently moved).

The beginner’s level lessons would be four sessions once a week for 2hrs each.

The cost would be $160.00.  These lessons will require a camera with some manual capabilities and also include some home study each week.

Intermediate to advanced lessons would require a portfolio to determine where to begin teaching and the cost would be $40.00 per session.  The session length may vary depending on lesson, assignments and workload but will not be less than two hours.  This level of training will include projects and assignments that will need to be completed and assessed. The number of lessons will vary depending on the student’s objective (i.e. how far the student would like to go in the learning process).

Love watching little ones grow!

Category: FamilyMicheline @ 7:23 pm

Tracy, it is always so lovely to do pictures of you and Davis! I love getting to see him every year and watch him grow – it is one of the best things about my job! He is such a ham for the camera – I think he must be used to getting his picture taken! Ha ha!

Bless you, Micheline

In Our Spare Time… ha ha!

Category: NewsMicheline @ 9:40 pm

Okay – so sometimes we have a bit of free time – doesn’t happen often but occasionally… In November we felt inspired to go outside of our box and create some photos that we never would do normally. Amy Chapoton has worked with us over the past couple of years as an assistant but in these images she got to be the model!!! We have posted a couple of those images here but there is more on our facebook site – so have a peek if you get a chance!
